West Liberty-Salem track teams win Monday meet

The West Liberty-Salem Girls Track and Field Team turned in a strong performance Monday night, winning the Champaign County Meet held at home.

First-Place Finishers:

  • Chloe Griffith won the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.43 seconds.
  • The 4×200 meter relay team of Arianna Weaver, Hattie Jacobs, Gwen McCullough, and Chloe Griffith took first with a time of 1:52.12.
  • The 4×100 meter relay team of Ella Albers, Tori Douthwaite, Hattie Jacobs, and Chloe Griffith won their event with a time of 52.46.
  • Hattie Jacobs placed first in the 300-meter hurdles, running 49.97 seconds.
  • Tori Douthwaite took first place in the pole vault with a vault of 10 feet, 5 inches.

Second-Place Finishers:

  • Tori Douthwaite finished second in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.13.
  • Arianna Weaver placed second in the 800-meter run in 2:35.19.
  • The 4×400 meter relay team of Arianna Weaver, Isla Leichty, Mariska Smith, and Gwen McCullough finished second with a time of 4:35.53.
  • Isabella Hardwick took second in the discus throw with a mark of 77 feet, 8.75 inches.
  • Lyndee Harrison was second in the shot put with a throw of 30 feet, 6.5 inches.
  • Rachel Stanford tied for second in the pole vault at 7 feet, 6 inches.

Third-Place Finishers:

  • The 4×800 meter relay team of Olive Mathews, Ryrie Mathews, Olivia McQuinn, and Rachel Stanford placed third with a time of 11:20.0.
  • Olivia McQuinn was third in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 1:00.11.
  • Chloe Griffith took third in the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.66.
  • Lyndee Harrison placed third in the discus with a throw of 77 feet, 3.5 inches.
  • Isabella Hardwick was third in the shot put with a mark of 29 feet, 9.75 inches.

Fourth-Place Finishers:

  • Olivia McQuinn placed fourth in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 21.08.
  • Isla Leichty was fourth in both the 1600-meter run (5:53.81) and the 3200-meter run (13:06.60).
  • Gwen McCullough finished fourth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:06.32.
  • Tori Douthwaite placed fourth in the 200-meter dash in 27.59.
  • Arianna Weaver was fourth in the high jump with a jump of 4 feet, 8 inches.
  • McKenzie Reames finished fourth in the discus with a throw of 75 feet, 6.5 inches.

Fifth-Place Finishers:

  • Mariska Smith placed fifth in the 3200-meter run with a time of 13:08.37.
  • McKayla Reames took fifth in the shot put with a throw of 25 feet, 9.75 inches.

 

The West Liberty-Salem boys finished first out of five schools with 186 points.

The Tigers nearly doubled the score of runner-up Mechanicsburg (85 points), followed by Urbana (41), Graham (34), and Triad (5).
