Middle School Basketball Teams Earn Big Wins; Suffer Tough Losses

The West Liberty-Salem 5th Grade Boys basketball team triumphed over Benjamin Logan with a 32-19 victory. Leading the Tigers: Braxton Louden with 13 points, and Jack Troyer and Isaac Fallon with 6 points each.

The 6th Grade Girls improved to 4-0, defeating Ben Logan 29-6 and North Union 18-4. Izzy Jones led the team with 16 points against Ben Logan and 8 points in the win over North Union. Defensive efforts from Mariah Fish, Iris Meister, Kennedy Logwood, and Quinn Moore helped with the wins.

The 7th Grade Girls extended their undefeated streak to 8-0, beating Southeastern 27-14. Bella Johnson and Avery Randall each contributed 11 points in the victory. They will play Fairbanks on Monday.

The 8th Grade Boys won big against Triad, 53-29, with Brandel Sullivan scoring 13 points. The 8th Grade Girls followed up with a 25-11 win over Southeastern, bringing their record to 5-4. Both teams will face Fairbanks on Monday.

The Benjamin Logan 8th grade boys team lost to North Union 49-28.
