West Liberty-Salem Soccer Teams Gear Up for Tournament Play

The West Liberty-Salem boys’ varsity soccer team faced off against league rival Greeneview, ending the match in a 1-1 tie.

Despite outshooting the Rams, the Tigers managed to score only once, with Lance Campbell finding the net from an assist by Isaiah Reminder in the second half.

Goalkeeper Tucker Searles made three saves, helping to secure the draw.

The Tigers will begin their tournament play this Tuesday at home, taking on Northwestern at 7 PM.

In girls’ soccer, the West Liberty-Salem team traveled to Greeneview for an OHC battle but came up short, losing 3-1.

The Tigers showed determination by shutting out the Rams in the second half, with Audrey Collins making 12 saves.

Jenna Cline scored the lone goal for the Tigers.

With a season record of 6-8-1 and a conference record of 4-3-1, the Tigers are set to face Twin Valley South on Monday night for their first-round tournament game, also kicking off at 7 PM.
