Local kart racer Jerome Wickham wrapped up an outstanding 2025 season with a 2nd place finish at Newcastle Motorsports Park, marking a year full of achievement, growth, and dedication.

Entering his third year of competition, Wickham set ambitious goals: at least one race victory and a top-five overall finish in the 14-race KRA season. Over the course of the year, he exceeded expectations, competing in 20 races across Indiana, Ohio, Wisconsin, and Tennessee. Highlights included:

  • 6 pole positions
  • 14 top-three qualifying spots (including 2nd at the CKNA Grand Nationals)
  • 3 race wins
  • 15 top-five finishes
  • 4th place overall in the KRA Championship

“It could have been better, but it certainly could have been worse. Racing isn’t always just about being fast; it’s a complex puzzle where everything has to align. I’m optimistic and excited for next season and will be working hard this winter to prepare physically and mentally for the move to the Junior categories.”

Looking ahead, the Bellefontaine Middle School seventh grader will transition to an adult-size kart capable of reaching 80 mph, taking on a more challenging level of competition in the Midwest regional season starting in April.

Off the track, Jerome has actively managed his racing career, driving sponsorship efforts and growing his social media presence — achieving a 2000% increase in views and doubling followers this season. He has already secured at least one major partner for the 2027 season, with more announcements expected.

Jerome extends his thanks to all who supported him this season.
