Bellefontaine racer Jerome Wickham delivered another standout performance at Round 3 of the Kart Racers of America (KRA) Championship, securing a strong 4th-place finish and taking the lead in the season standings.
Racing on Mother’s Day weekend with family cheering from the sidelines, Wickham was fast right out of the gate.
He posted top-three lap times throughout Saturday practice and qualified third out of 21 karts in a highly competitive field boosted by top-tier regional drivers and teams.
The final race featured a three-kart front pack from the powerhouse MPG Motorsports team pulling away early.
Wickham found himself locked in a battle for 4th, managing pressure with skill and strategy to hold off late-race challenges and cross the line just outside the podium.
With three races down, Wickham now stands atop the KRA championship leaderboard. He’ll return to action in two weeks for the next KRA event before heading to Wisconsin for a regional race in June.
