Monday night brought action for several local girls soccer teams.
The West Liberty-Salem Tigers fell 0-3 at home to Springfield Shawnee.
Kaylee Blair recorded 11 saves, while the Tigers are now 0-1-1 on the season.
The team will travel to Northeastern on Thursday to open Ohio Heritage Conference play, with kickoff at 5:30 p.m.
Bellefontaine also came up short in a non-conference match, losing 3-0 to St. Marys.
Emma Whitaker made 15 saves in goal for the Lady Chiefs.
The team will play again on Thursday night at Kenton.
Meanwhile, the Calvary Christian Spartans kicked off their first varsity girls soccer season with an impressive 12-0 win over Middletown Christian.
Six Spartans scored, led by Makarios Kariuki with five goals.
Lydia Davie and Caroline Moore each added two goals, while Reagan Roell, Annagail Lambert, and Eden LeCrone scored one goal apiece.
Maddison Freeland had three saves in the shutout.
