WL-S 6th-grade basketball teams go combined 4-0 over the weekend

The West Liberty-Salem 6th-grade girls and boys basketball teams both enjoyed a successful weekend, each picking up two wins to remain undefeated early in the season.

6th Grade Girls Recap

The Lady Tigers opened the weekend on Saturday with a hard-fought 19–17 victory over Ben Logan. Balanced scoring helped secure the win, led by Paisley Strapp with 7 points and Harper Patton with 4. Claudia Louth, Kynslie McIntosh, Addison Falloon, and Bentley Sullivan each added 2 points as West Liberty-Salem improved to 1-0.

On Sunday, the girls delivered a dominant performance, defeating Indian Lake 36–2 to move to 2-0 on the season. Strapp once again led the way with 12 points, followed by Harper Patton with 9. Claudia Louth, Kynslie McIntosh, and Brynlee Randall each scored 4 points, while Charlie Freehauf (2), Lily Erickson (1), and Addison Falloon (1) rounded out the scoring.

The girls will look to continue their strong start this weekend as they host Bellefontaine on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. before traveling to North Union on Sunday at 3:00 p.m.

6th Grade Boys Recap

The West Liberty-Salem 6th-grade boys also impressively opened their season. On Saturday, they defeated Ben Logan 37–24 behind a strong offensive effort from Braxton Louden, who scored 16 points. Jack Troyer added 7, Isaac Fallon scored 6, and Hayes Robison, Maddax Dobberstein, and Archer Anane-Sefah each contributed 2 points.

On Sunday, the Tigers followed up with a 33–13 win over Indian Lake, improving to 2-0. Louden once again paced the team with 15 points, while Jack Troyer and Isaac Fallon each scored 7. Parker Knight and Abrym Johnson added 2 points apiece to complete the scoring.

Both West Liberty-Salem 6th-grade teams will look to build on their undefeated starts as the season continues.
