Several area middle school volleyball teams were in action Thursday, with West Liberty-Salem splitting its matches with Benjamin Logan and Riverside facing Bethel in conference play.
7th Grade – West Liberty-Salem 2, Benjamin Logan 1
The West Liberty-Salem seventh-grade Lady Tigers defeated Benjamin Logan in three sets, 25-14, 16-25, 25-12.
The Lady Tigers improve to 3-0 overall and 2-0 in the OHC.
8th Grade – Benjamin Logan 2, West Liberty-Salem 0
Benjamin Logan defeated the West Liberty-Salem eighth-grade Lady Tigers in two sets, 26-24 and 25-21.
West Liberty-Salem is now 2-1 overall and 2-0 in OHC play.
The Lady Tigers return to action Monday at home, with the eighth-grade match scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
7th Grade – Bethel 2, Riverside 0
Bethel defeated Riverside in two sets, 25-1 and 25-19, in seventh-grade conference action.
Brielle Carpenter led Riverside with four points and three aces. Bella Castallante added four points, two aces, and a tip, while Stella Shultz recorded two points and two aces. Scarlett Lentz added one point.
8th Grade – Bethel 2, Riverside 0
Bethel also won the eighth-grade matchup, 25-17 and 25-10.
Kinsley Crawford led Riverside with four points and four aces. Bella Shultz added three points and three aces, while Ruth Morrison finished with one point and a tip.
Bella Beaty, Avery Wheeler and Paloma Quixan each added one point, while Brylee Shephard contributed three tips.
Riverside will return to action Saturday at 10 a.m. at Fairlawn.
