The West Liberty-Salem High School Cheer Team shined at the Ohio Heritage Conference (OHC) Cheer Competition held over the weekend at Triad High School, earning the title of 1st Runners-Up after delivering a stellar performance that showcased their hard work, precision, and Tiger pride.
The team, coached by Allison Wygal and Izzy Wygal, has spent the season building consistency, spirit, and strength through their sideline performances — an effort that paid off on the competition floor.
“Our team takes great pride in our sideline performances all season long. That energy and discipline carried over into competition and allowed the athletes to perform at their peak when it mattered most.”
– Head Coach Allison Wygal
In addition to the team’s strong overall finish, several cheerleaders were recognized with All-Ohio Heritage Conference honors for their individual excellence and leadership:
1st Team All-OHC
Lexi Hausler
Eliza Halterman
2nd Team All-OHC
Ellery Wygal
Addyson Mattox
Honorable Mention
Jay Young
These athletes have embodied the true spirit of the Tiger Cheer Program — combining athleticism, enthusiasm, and teamwork to uplift their peers and community.
Congratulations to the entire West Liberty-Salem Cheer Team on an incredible season, an impressive finish at the OHC Championships, and well-deserved recognition across the conference.
