The West Liberty-Salem Ball Association #1, sponsored by Thoman’s IGA, 10U softball team capped off a successful season by winning the league championship Friday night with an 8-3 victory over Zanesfield #3 at Southview Park.
WLBA #1 put together a strong all-around performance, combining timely hitting, solid defense, and outstanding pitching to earn the championship trophy. Catie Dagger led the way in the circle, delivering a strong outing that kept Zanesfield’s offense in check throughout the game.
The team built an early lead and continued to add runs while making key defensive plays to preserve the advantage. Zanesfield battled throughout the contest, but WLBA #1 remained in control on its way to the five-run victory.
The championship win wraps up an impressive season for WLBA #1, which finishes the year with a 10-5 record. The title is a fitting reward for a team that showed determination, teamwork, and steady improvement throughout the season.
The 2026 championship team includes Emery Brown, Catie Dagger, Courtney Dagger, Leah Huffman, Autumn Johnson, Emma Richardson, Lainey Smith, Rhenna Smith, Lyda Stengel, Leah Thoman, Lexie Underwood, Harley Woodruff, and Landry Woodruff.
