WLS Middle School cross country places at Bob Schul

The West Liberty-Salem middle school cross country teams competed at the Bob Schul Invitational on Saturday.

On the boys’ side, Big Orange finished third out of 40 teams.

Botkins won the meet with 80 points, followed by Russia with 110, and WLS with 113.

Leading the WLS boys were Milo Matthews, who placed 14th with a time of 12:06, Caizen Anders in 16th at 12:09, and Zeke Lauck in 19th at 12:14.

Other contributing finishers included Chafer Matthews (28th), Liam Harrington (47th), Raylan Wulf (116th), Harrison Sutherin (138th), Mason Hinds (162nd), Lance Hinds (168th), Jacob Bahan (178th), Wyatt Brooks (200th), Jett Ziegler (215th), Wyatt Phelps (240th), Bryce Michael (281st), Malachi Titus (286th), Connor Watson (311th), Gabriel Wilson (375th), and Jude Roberts (407th).

On the girls’ side, WLS placed seventh overall out of 27 teams.

Top finishers were Nika Matthews (14th, 13:19), Elin Leichty (18th, 13:30), and Elayna Hoover (47th, 14:35).

Other team members included Iris Meister (49th), Lilly Woodruff (117th), Emily Finch (127th), Violet Kauffman (285th), and Issabella Meyers (292nd).
