The Zanesfield Petanque Club held its annual Memorial Day tournament on Sunday, welcoming teams from across Ohio for a day of competition.
This year’s tournament featured nine doubles teams, including five junior players.
After three rounds of qualifying play, Josh and Otto Kotsaris finished in first place with a 3-0 record and a +26 point differential.
Ronald Walls and Loren McCumber followed in second place with a 3-0 record and a +3 differential.
In semifinal action, Shannon Hodge and Mohamed Boulahoual defeated Team Kotsaris 13-6, while Team Walls advanced with a 13-0 win over William Daniels and Sam Park.
The championship match came down to the final points, with Hodge and Boulahoual winning the tournament by edging Walls and McCumber 13-12.
In the third-place match, Daniels and Park defeated Team Kotsaris 13-7.
