On Monday, 3/16/26, the Lord opened His arms to welcome Annie Horsley home. She battled a multitude of health issues throughout her lifetime, but she peacefully made the transition into her Savior's arms at Riverside Hospital, with her brother by her side.
She is preceded in death by her parents; William Horsley Sr and Irmgard (Sailer) Horsley. She is survived by her brother, William “Billy” Horsley Jr, and her two sisters; Linda Evilsizor-Smith and Sandra (Bob) Ward. She was much loved by her nieces and nephews; Mylinda (Eric) Abraham-Powell, Roger “Thomas” Evilsizor, Rebecca “Becky” Hoelscher, and Melyssa (Mike) Haire. She will be dearly missed by several close friends, including her lifelong friend and caregiver, Carmel Nash, as well as her faithful feline friend, Irish.
She was a West Liberty Salem High School graduate. In her early years, she worked at Plastics Research Products “PRP”, the Champaign County Treasurer's Office and the American Cancer Society. She delighted in doing illustration work for several faith-based children’s books. She also illustrated several posters for Bozo The Clown. In her later years, she was a resident of Otterbein Green Hills, where she loved and prayed for many of her neighbors, several of whom she considered family.
She thoroughly enjoyed baking, cooking, camping, fishing, long strolls, and traveling whenever she could. She loved spending time with family and talking on the phone for hours. She was mesmerized by everything in nature, especially hummingbirds. Some of her most cherished memories were collected during her many visits to the Ohio Caverns, and while she was on countless vacations in Canada, Hocking Hills, Jekyll Island, and 43 annual vacations in Cherokee, North Carolina (where she currently holds the family record by catching a trout weighing over five pounds!!). But her greatest love was found in the Lord!! She shared her faith with everyone who had ears to hear. Her gigantic heart, tender spirit, compassion, kindness, patience, unconditional love, and JOY will be dearly missed by so many of us until we meet again.
Condolences may be shared at www.jkzfh.com.
May God Bless and keep her always!!
