Barbara Ann (Smith) Gibbs, 76, of Cridersville, OH, passed away Saturday morning, September 19, 2026, at Otterbein Cridersville Senior Life Community.
Barbara was born on August 9, 1950, in Lima, OH, a daughter of the late William J. and Evelyn M. (Hanthorn) Smith. She married Steven Gibbs on October 26, 1973, and he preceded her in death on January 6, 2006. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Smith Ley.
Barbara is survived by her brother, Thomas (E. Joan) Smith of Ada, OH, three nieces, Kelly (Michael) Smith Burton of Lima, Pamela (Seth) Smith Parker of Marion, OH, and Christy (Jared) Ley Moening of Verona, WI, three nephews, Brian (Telia) Smith of Findlay, OH, Tommie Smith of Ada, and Michael (Kyle) Ley of Lima, and brother-in-law, Dennis Ley of Lima.
Barbara was a 1968 graduate of Lima Senior High School. She and her husband, Steve, owned and operated a gas station and variety store on the Northside of Indian Lake, and then moved to Sevierville, TN, where they operated a Flea Market and Variety Store for many years. Barbara enjoyed watching old western movies and going to Cracker Barrel. She was a collector of Antiques, coins, and jewelry.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at Shoffstall Funeral Home, 205 S. Main St., Lakeview, with visitation from noon to 1:00 pm. Burial will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery, New Hampshire, OH.
