Barbara Sue Mast of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, passed away at home after a brief illness on Sunday, July 12, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Barbara was born on February 17, 1940, in Bellefontaine, Ohio, the oldest child of the late Clifford and Joan (McClain) Williams.
Barbara married the love of her life, James G. Mast, on June 13, 1959, in Bellefontaine, Ohio, and he survives. She is also survived by her children, Marcia (Matt) Day, Laura (Phil) DeVillez and Jennifer Cutshaw; her grandchildren, Melanie (Giancarlo) Alpuche, Michael (Kayla) Day, Jason (Brenda) DeVillez, Anna (Tyler) Perrott, Hope Jing, Nathan (Cass) DeVillez, Zachary (Michelle) Goeglein, Derek (Melissa) Goeglein, Emily Cutshaw, and 14 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Nancy (David) Knight of DeGraff, Ohio, and Karen Nelson of Bellefontaine, Ohio, and a brother, Clinton Williams of Washington, D.C.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Joan Williams, brothers-in-law, Ross [Jud] Nelson, Jr. and James Mears, and son-in-law, Paige Cutshaw.
Barbara was a 1958 graduate of Washington Local Schools (now Indian Lake Schools), where she was a cheerleader and involved in numerous activities. Barb was a gifted quilter and seamstress, and she leaves behind many beautiful quilts given to friends and family. Barb and Jim loved doing everything together, including gardening, dancing, and
traveling. They had a way of making everyone feel important and included by offering a warm smile and easy conversation. They attended Calvary United Methodist Church, where they participated in many activities. Their greatest joy was spending time with each other and their beautiful family.
