Christina Kay McGinnis, 72, of Bellefontaine, passed away suddenly at her home on Monday, March 6, 2023.

Christina was born February 10, 1951, in Bellefontaine to the late Wilmer Burton and Maxine Jewel (Fleece) Dodds.

Christina was a member of Harper Community Church where she had attended church all of her life. She attend many Women’s Society events and Christian Concerts over the years. Christina had worked at Westinghouse prior to working for over 42 years at Dodds Barber Shop, some of those years with her father Wilmer. Later she became the owner and operator of the business, carrying on the tradition.

Christina enjoyed being a 4-H advisor for several years. She also enjoyed crocheting, playing cards, and doing puzzles. Christina loved cutting hair and talking to her customers, spending time with her dog “Teddy.” Above all, she loved her family and her church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her daughter, Judy Engle; grandchildren, Simon (Stella McCarty) Engle, Logan Engle, Samuel (Macie McClorey) Engle, and Cheyenne Engle; great-grandchildren, Kadie Wright, Hazel Engle, and Gunner Engle; siblings, Vic (Grace) Dodds, Larry (Sue) Dodds, Nancy (Bob) Dodds Singer, Susie Dodds, and Jim (Gina) Dodds; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her son, Jason McGinnis.

A Funeral Service will take place Thursday, March 9, 2023, at 5:00 p.m. at Harper Community Church, 3679 County Road 25 N. Bellefontaine, OH 43311. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service, at the church.

Christina would like all family and guests to “come as they are,” with no formal dress, please.
