Connie L. Rhoades, 79, of Belle Center, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones, early Tuesday morning, August 25, 2026, at Logan Acres Care Center. She was born on October 3, 1946, in Circleville, Ohio, to the late Merton Stanley and Carrie Elizabeth (Wiggins) Triplett. She is also preceded in death by an infant grandson, Nicholas Richard Baughman, and her brother, Merton Samuel Compton.
On February 15, 1969, she married Robert Howard Rhoades, and he survives in Belle Center.
She also leaves behind her children: Catherine E. (Steve) Oder and R. Paul Rhoades; grandchildren: Lindze (Matthew) Trivits, Kelsey (Joshua) Conklin, Emily (Gage) Slayback and Charlotte Rhoades; great grandchildren: Adelia, Leyna, Wren and Texas Trivits, Caroline and Eleanor Conklin, and Kayce and Calvin Slayback; sisters-in-law: Barbara Culver and Sondra Rhoades; and many nieces and nephews.
Connie was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Bellefontaine, where she was a member of the church choir and was a cantor. She worked as a registered nurse for 44 years, working for many doctors’ offices and hospitals. One of her biggest accomplishments during her career was working alongside Dr. Harry Graber as the director of Cardiovascular Services at Mary Rutan Hospital from the late 1970s until 1992.
She enjoyed camping and working in her yard. One of her greatest interests was genealogy, which allowed her to discover connections between her and Bob’s family trees. Above all else, she loved her family, especially her granddaughters and great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Connie will be held on Monday, August 31, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Eichholtz & Daring Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 321 N Main Street, Bellefontaine. Father Shawn Landenwitch will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, in St. Patrick Catholic Church, 316 E. Patterson Ave., Bellefontaine, Ohio 43311. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
