David M. Hand
1944-2026

David M. Hand, 81, of Huntsville, OH, passed away Wednesday afternoon, February 18, 2026, at The James Cancer Hospital while surrounded by his family.

David was born on June 17, 1944, in Sidney, OH, a son of the late Bernard Lee and Willa Cather (Dilbone) Hand. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Diana Lynn Pedigo, a son, Douglas Lee Hand, a granddaughter, Michele Coleman, and a brother, Harry Hand.

Dave married Judy Collier on September 7, 1968, in Huntsville, and she survives. He is also survived by two daughters, Julie Ann Wireman of Russells Point, OH, and Melissa Jo VanHoose of Cable, OH, 11 grandchildren, Heather King, Cody Pedigo, Cristine Lane, Douglas Romano, Whitnee Hand, Krystle Berry, Austin Moore, Aliyah Divino, Anakin Hand, Madison Wireman, and Kyla Byrne, 11 great grandchildren, Lily, Brayden, Brielle, Xavior, Hayven, Grayson, Aaliyah, Charlotte, Anna, Whitney, and Dominic, four siblings, Saundra Truax of Collier, WV, Mary Louise Hand of Sidney, Susan (Gene) Adkins of Sidney, and Mark (Paula) Hand of Troy, OH, former daughter-in-law, Joanna (Kevin) Queen, several nieces and nephews, and grand kitties, Sky, Flash, Jet, Maui, and Wasabi.

Dave started his working career at Pangles Master Market for 9 years. He retired from Ford Motor Company after 36 years and worked at TRC for 7 years. He was a member of Russells Point Church of God. Dave found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved working with his hands through woodworking, could often be found playing games in his computer room, and was a devoted Ohio State Buckeyes fan. Above all, Dave cherished his family. His love for them was steady, deep, and unwavering, and his greatest happiness came from time spent surrounded by those he loved. His faith in God guided his life and was evident in the kindness and devotion he showed to others.

Pastor Joe Angles will begin funeral services at 3:00 pm, Sunday, February 22, 2026, at Russells Point Church of God, with visitation from 1-3 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in Dave’s memory to Russells Point Church of God or Logan County Cancer Society, C/O Mary Rutan Hospital.
