Dennis K. Hines, 68, of Bellefontaine, completed his service, work, and journey here on earth on March 21, 2026, at home with family around him.
He was born in an ice storm on April 4, 1957, in Kenton, OH, to the late Donald R. and Mary (Prater, Hines) Mort. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Donald Hines.
He is survived by his son, Joey Hines; former wife, Young (Sun) Hines; siblings, Ray Griffin, Tim Hines, Lori (Paul Cordrey) Hines, Joe Hines, Julie (Pete) Hatfield, Marlee (Dave) Oglesbee, Kelly Hines and Brian (Lisa) Roth; many nieces and nephews that he treated as his own kids; great and great-great nieces and nephews.
Dennis graduated from Ben Logan High School. He later worked at Lile Auction house in Zanesfield for many years and then went into the service. Dennis proudly joined the US Army in 1979 and honorably served his country for eight years. In the service, he traveled and learned many things stationed at Fort Campbell, KY, before going to Korea and Panama after being discharged as a Sergeant. He also worked at Siemens for 21 years and drove a semi for Lima Transport for six years before he retired. Dennis loved to travel, play poker, and participated in many demolition derbies. He really enjoyed working on all types of vehicles, old cars, new cars, and all cars in between. Above all, he loved his family, his friends. Dennis will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to get to know him.
A Funeral Service will be held Monday, March 30, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Jennings Farley & Seeley Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will take place in Highland Memorial Cemetery following the service.
