Donald L. Lewis, 69, of Lewistown, OH, passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at OSU Wexner Medical Center, Columbus, OH.
Donald was born on August 18, 1957, in Bellefontaine, OH, a son of the late Robert F. Lewis and Annette M. Queen Prall. He was preceded in death by a brother, Bob Lewis, stepmother, LaVonda Lewis, and stepfather, Ed Prall.
Don married Diane Brunner Lewis on July 2, 1983, at his brother Bob’s home in West Liberty, OH, and she survives. He is also survived by their three children, Monica Burgess of Nashville, TN, Cole (Sharon) Lewis of Bellefontaine, and Connor Lewis of Los Angeles, CA, two grandchildren, Adelyn and Cooper Lewis, a sister, Debbie Lewis of Tampa, FL, half-brothers, Jerry Vivoda of Belle Center, OH, and Todd Prall, step-brothers/sisters, Ralph (Tammy) Prall, Dave Prall, Susie (Dan) Coy, Dave (Mary Ann) Stabile, Jeff Stabile, and Barb (Mike) Allison, brothers/sisters-in-law, Mike (Susan) Brunner, Debby (John) Hanson, Mark (Donna) Brunner, Lory Park, John (Deb) Brunner, David Brunner, and Patty Lewis, and several nieces and nephews.
Don was a 1975 graduate of Bellefontaine High School. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. Don retired from Honda Transmission Manufacturing in 2012 after 35 years of service. He was a member and trustee of Lewistown-Trinity United Methodist Church, where he also served as co-director for God’s Team Basketball for youth and helped with Vacation Bible School. Don was an avid golfer who played in several golf leagues and recorded 5 Holes-In-One. He also played men’s softball, coed softball, bowled, and was an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns, Cincinnati Reds, and The Ohio State Buckeyes. Don had a strong commitment to his church, school, and community. He was a familiar voice at Indian Lake Basketball and Football games as the announcer for 22 years and served 12 years as a Washington Township Trustee. He strongly supported the Washington Township Police Department and Indian Lake EMS. Don never knew a stranger, was compassionate, humorous, and loved his family and friends deeply. He will be truly missed.
Pastor Rod Brower will begin funeral services at 11:00 am, Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at Shoffstall Funeral Home, 205 S. Main St., Lakeview. Visitation will be on Monday, September 14th, from 1-3 and 5- 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in Don’s memory to Indian Lake Athletic Boosters or Lewistown-Trinity United Methodist Church.
