Dorothy Mae Huffman
1929-2026

Dorothy Mae Huffman, 96, of West Mansfield, a devoted wife, loving mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 10, 2026, at the Bluebird of Marysville. Born on May 25, 1929, in Waveland, IN, Dorothy’s life was marked by dedication both to her family and her community.

A 1947 graduate of West Mansfield High School, Dorothy went on to work as a clerk for 29 years with the Logan County Auditor's Office, retiring on September 30, 1989. She was a longtime member of the West Mansfield Methodist Church, where she also actively contributed to the United Methodist Women, exemplifying her commitment to faith and fellowship.

Dorothy is remembered fondly for her love of travel, especially the adventures she shared with her husband, Joseph. Her devotion extended deeply into her family life, where she was cherished as a nurturing presence.

She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia (Thomas) Weikart of Bellefontaine; her sons, Joseph (Drema) Huffman of Mukwonago, WI and David (Helen) Huffman of Bellefontaine; grandchildren, Lisa, TJ, Bethany, Tyler, John, and James; six great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; her son-in-law, Gregg Wills, and sisters-in-law Florence Bajaj and Janie Huffman; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Joseph E. Huffman, whom she married on February 27, 1949, at the West Mansfield United Methodist Church; her daughter, Peggy Wills; her parents, William and Mildred (Kramer) Wyrick; and her brothers, Donald and Edwin Dennison.

Services to celebrate Dorothy's life will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, April 16, 2026, at the Wilson Funeral Home, Schnurrenberger Chapel, 222 W Center St., West Mansfield. Pastor Timothy Burden will officiate, and burial will follow at the York Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 - 7:00 PM on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at the funeral home.
