Eugene A. “Gene” Pusey

In Loving Memory of Eugene A. “Gene” Pusey, 70, of DeGraff, OH, who passed away on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at Doctor’s Hospital, Columbus, OH.

Eugene A. “Gene” Pusey was a man whose unmatched work ethic, generous heart, and willingness to help others left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

A skilled tradesman, devoted father, and mentor to many, Gene believed in the value of hard work, the importance of learning, and every person's ability to build a better life.

Throughout his life, Gene's mother, Isabelle, ran Wicker Resort at Indian Lake, Ohio, creating a lasting family legacy. In the 1990s, Gene continued that tradition by starting Wicker's Resort Bar alongside his cousin, Malcolm, and Lynette Reid. The bar became part of the Indian Lake community, bringing people together through entertainment, live music, and social gatherings where lasting memories were made. Wicker Resort remained a meaningful part of the family's story, reflecting generations of hard work, dedication, and shared memories.

Gene was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Isabelle and Ronald Pusey, a daughter, Peggy Jo Pusey, and his brother Mark.

He leaves behind his beloved daughter, Jessica Turley, and beloved sons, Jeff Wick, Nick Rayoum, Thomas Rayoum, Tylor Withrow, Zach Rayoum, Bruce Taylor, Jason Taylor, Logan Schutte, and Lisa Collins; his sister Sandra; and his brothers Frank and Glenn.

His cherished grandchildren include Elizabeth, Christopher, Erica, Kaylee, Maria, Jathan, James, Magnolia, Emma, Nova, Thomas, Izzy, Naketa, Colton, Oakley, Emery, Weston, Aubrey, Harper, Erabella, and Kambria. Erica, who preceded him in death, is lovingly remembered as part of the family he leaves behind.

He is also survived by his beloved great-grandchildren, Theodore, Isabella, and Freya, whose lives represent the continuing generations of a family shaped by his love, lessons, and example.
Beyond his immediate family, Gene touched countless lives, opening his home and heart to anyone who needed a place. He will be remembered for his hardworking spirit, generous heart, adventurous nature, and quiet wisdom.

His life was measured not only by what he built, but by what he gave to others. His lessons, kindness, and example will live on through his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all those whose lives he touched.

His legacy will continue far beyond his years, carried on in the hearts and memories of everyone who knew and loved him.
