1949-2025
Gary Franklin Smith, 76, of West Liberty, passed away peacefully into the arms of his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at Memorial Hospital in Marysville, OH.
Gary was born September 13, 1949, in Bellefontaine to the late John and Arlene (Mefford) Smith. On October 5, 1974, in West Liberty, he married the love of his life, Margaret Jayne Foulk, who survives; Gary and Jayne shared 51 years of marriage. He is also survived by his son, Anthony Ryan (Stephanie) Smith; daughter, Angela Renee Smith; many loving grandchildren; sister, Carolyn (Bill) Roberts; brothers, David (Diane) Smith and Duane Smith; Aunt, Willadean O’Brien, and many nieces and nephews.
Gary is a Navy Veteran who served his country honorably during the Vietnam War. He later went to work at DAB for 18 years, and then he retired from Honda in 2015 after 28 years of dedicated work. Gary is a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge in West Liberty #161 F and AM and a lifetime member of the VFW, American Legion, and the Eastern Star. He was an avid hunter and fisherman; he truly enjoyed the outdoors in general. Gary was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to get to know him.
A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, December 29, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Jennings Farley & Seeley Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Monday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will take place in Highland Memorial Cemetery following the service.
