1942-2026

Georgia M. Byers, 84, of West Liberty, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday afternoon, August 23, 2026.

Georgia was born on September 13, 1942, in Sidney, Ohio, to the late George Meredith and Maxine (Short) Dubbs.

Georgia is survived by her husband Larry Byers, whom she married on May 12, 1990; her children: Terri (Roger) Kendall of West Liberty, Steve (Kristi) Buck of West Liberty, Kendra (Rick) Graham of Greenville, SC, and Kelley Woods of San Diego, CA; 11 grandchildren:  Whitney (Tony) Cushman, Devon (Ben) Cumpston, Delanie (Dave) Baustert, Gunnar Buck, Montanna Buck, Tyler (Bree) Graham, Ryan (Andrea) Graham, Dylan (Kendall) Graham, Connor Woods, Luke Woods, and Kerris Woods; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Georgia was one of the first EMT / Paramedic in West Liberty in the early 1980s.  She loved to paint and was a member and past president of the Logan County Art League.  Georgia loved her animals and enjoyed fishing and boating.  Family dinners and cookouts held a special place in her heart, as did her various pets over the years.  Georgia was known for decorating her yard at Christmas and loved the time spent with her family.

Friends will be received on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, from 11 am to 1 pm at Eichholtz & Daring Funeral Home, West Liberty, where Georgia’s grandson, Tyler Graham, will officiate her memorial service at 1 pm.   Burial will be at a later date in Fairview Cemetery, West Liberty.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Barely Used Pets, 844 Jackson Hill Road, Urbana, OH 43078, or to the Logan County Animal Shelter, in care of Logan County Sheriff, 284 Co. Rd. 32 South, Bellefontaine, OH 43311.
