1957-2025
Gregory W. Stimmel, 67, of Lakeview, OH, passed away Thursday morning, December 18, 2025, at Mary Rutan Hospital Emergency Department, Bellefontaine, OH.
Gregory was born on December 20, 1957, in Lima, OH, a son of the late William H. and Roberta J. (Spencer) Stimmel. He was also preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, Tom Lawrence and Tom Ireton.
Greg married Tina Barger on November 28, 1981, at Christ United Methodist Church in Lakeview, and she survives. He is also survived by three sons, Thomas Stimmel of Bellefontaine, Robert (KC) Stimmel of Lakeview, and James (Miranda) Stimmel of Russells Point, OH; four grandchildren, Raelin Stimmel, Charlie Stimmel, Amelia Stimmel, and Leroy Stimmel; and two siblings, Gary (Janelle) Stimmel of Florida, and Pam Lawrence of Waynesfield, OH.
Greg was a 1976 graduate of Waynesfield-Goshen High School. He retired from Norfolk-Southern Railroad in 2017 after 28 years of service. Greg enjoyed model railroading, yardwork, building things in his workshop, and was a World War II history buff.
A celebration of Greg’s life will be held at a later date.
