Harvey “Junior” Goings Jr., 90, of Bellefontaine, passed away Saturday, January 17, 202,6 at Mary Rutan Hospital.
Junior was born July 19, 1935, in McGuffy, OH, to the late Harvey Nelson and Myrtle Mae (Legge) Goings. On August 18, 1959, in DeGraff, he married the love of his life, Sondra Sue “Sonnie” Robinson, who survives. He is also survived by his son, Ronald J. (Carol) Goings; grandkids, AJ and Carlee Goings; brother, Thomas Goings; and many nieces and nephews.
Junior honorably served his country during the Korean War, serving in the United States Army. He worked for Hesser Construction Company for a few years and then went to work for Thomas & Marker Construction Company. He was a member of the Logan County Veterans Honor Guard for many years. Junior enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, and hunting in general. He loved country music and dancing. Above all, he loved his family; spending time with his grandkids, playing cards with siblings, and spending time with his wife, Sonnie. Junior was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be deeply missed.
He is preceded in death by his siblings, Robert, Martin, Charles, Ardel, Kathryn, Bessie, Sarah, Floyd, and Ronald.
A Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Jennings Farley & Seeley Funeral Home & Crematory, 5591 US Hwy 68 S., West Liberty, OH 43357. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will take place in Highland Memorial Cemetery following the service.
