Helen Marie (Pugh) Culp
1928-2024

Helen Marie (Pugh) Culp, 96, of Rushsylvania, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, September 5, 2024. She was born in Rushsylvania, Ohio on January 30, 1928, to the late John and Iva (Kilgore) Pugh.

On August 18, 1945, Helen married Carl E. Culp, and he preceded her in death on May 12, 2020. She is also preceded in death by a brother, J. Lowell; sisters: Betty Hughes and Donna Fry; and a son-in-law, Bob.

To this union were four children: Carol, James (Luann), Ronald (Lorre), and Luanne; grandchildren: Lisa (James), Tim (Kristy), Ann (Chad), Jon (Holly), Joe (Mary), Andrea (Jon), Jeff (Megan), Angie (Dale), and Darin (Bri); great-grandchildren: Katharine, Corbin, Luke, Jacob, Bailey, Elizabeth, Evan, Elliot, Eli, Emarie, Wyatt, Olive, Collin, Carlie, Emmie, Brooks, Makenna, Palmer, James, and Alice; great-great grandchild, Thea; and many nieces and nephews.

Helen attended the Rushsylvania school and later returned to work there in the cafeteria for 10 years. Later, she cared for the elderly in their homes. She was also a member of the Rushsylvania United Methodist Church. She was an avid sports fan and was an accomplished pianist.

Pastor April Phillips will officiate a memorial service at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at the Rushsylvania United Methodist Church, 152 Rush St, Rushsylvania, Ohio 43347. A gathering of friends and family will take place at the Rushsylvania Cemetery following the service and meal at the church.

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Heartland Hospice and Heritage Senior Living for the loving care extended to Helen.
