Herman Keith Clark, 86, of Lakeview, OH, formerly of LaRue, OH, passed away early Tuesday morning, June 9, 2026, at Lima Memorial Health Systems with his family by his side.
Herman was born on May 19, 1940, in Oak Hill, OH, a son of the late Arthur and Frances (Crabtree) Clark. He was also preceded in death by ten siblings.
Herman married Sue Miller on April 14, 1967, in Dobson, NC, and she survives. He is also survived by their daughter, Kelli (Rob) Lee of LaRue, OH, their son, Shane Clark (Tera) of Marion, OH, five grandchildren, Justin (Skye) Lee, Jacob (Madison) Lee, Zachary (Aleiah) Murdock, Krosbi Clark, and Kecher Clark, two great grandchildren, Elijah, and Ellie, two siblings, Evan Clark of Marion, and Pamela (Rocky) Giffin of New Albany, OH, and several nieces and nephews.
Herman was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving during Vietnam. He earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from The Ohio State University. Herman retired from Marion Correctional Institution as a Job Coordinator in 2002. He was also a skills educator while working there. Herman was a member of American Legion Post #162 in Marion, Kenton FOE Aeries #2163, F&AM Lodge #70 in Marion, 32 Degree Mason of Valley of Columbus, George L. Behrens #504 Order of Eastern Star, Life member of Doyle R. Miller Amvet Post #39 in Lakeview, and Indian Lake Moose Lodge #1533. He enjoyed socializing, hunting, cooking, gardening, and family gatherings.
Per Herman’s wishes, no public services will be observed.
