1942-2024
James E. “Jim” Huffman, 81 of Bellefontaine passed away Thursday, October 24, 2024 at his residence.
Jim was born October 30, 1942 in Mannington, WV to the late Paul and Zella (Kerns) Huffman. On August 29, 1986 he married Carol Sue Riley, who survives.
Jim worked at Westinghouse and was part owner of TJ’s Radio Sales & Repair for many years. He later went to work at AGC where he was part of the senior staff maintenance and retired in 2006. He was a member of the Elks, the Eagles and AMVETS. He enjoyed his computers, ham radios and to tinker with electronics. Jim also enjoyed woodworking and swinging on his front porch swing, the one that he had made. He liked taking care of his yard and making sure it was in pristine shape. He also enjoyed spending time with his best friends, Charley Lamb and the late Jim Vanness. There were times that he and Charley would have lengthy conversations on the phone. Jim loved his dogs, cars, motorcycles, photography and nature. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to get to know him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Carol S. Huffman; daughter, Tiffany M. (Angi Sprang) Huffman; sons, James E. Huffman II and Todd J. Young; grandchildren, Brittnee (Tyler) Vermillion and Brooklyn Huffman; great grandchildren, Sawyer Vermillion and Bowie Vermillion; his beloved fur babies; Mandi and Abby.
A Memorial Service will take place Saturday, November 2, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Jennings Farley & Seeley Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. A private family burial will take place in Fairview Cemetery – West Liberty at a later date.
