James “Jim” L. Neeley
1948-2025

James “Jim” L. Neeley, 77, of Lakeview, OH, passed away Friday evening, November 14, 2025, at his home.

James was born on July 8, 1948, in Rushsylvania, OH, a son of the late Everett and Chrystal (Spencer) Neeley. Jim is also preceded in death by four siblings, Geneva “Mae” Opperman, Wilbur Dean Neeley, Larry Ray Neeley, and Christina Bucker.

Jim is survived by five children, Brian “Boone” (Beth) Neeley of Bellefontaine, OH, Susy Neeley of Russells Point, OH, Eric (Tiouna) Neeley of Belle Center, OH, Jason (Katie) Taylor of Huntsville, OH, and Terri (Trey Ramirez) Neeley of Russells Point, 15 grandchildren, Shelby Lampley, Samantha Neeley, Linzie Neeley, Dallas Warman, Triston Finch, Austin Neeley, Alyssa (Tyler) Metz, Aden (Isabelle) Neeley, Gavin Neeley, Gabrielle (Hunter) Vance, Gracie Taylor, Gillian Taylor, Kason Taylor, Tyler (Mattie) Ramirez, and Tyson Ramirez, seven great grandchildren, Sheldon, Elliot, Jaksyn, Brett, Liam, Maddix, and Maria, two sister, Maxine Hackworth of Piqua, OH, and Patty Lhamon of Wapakoneta, OH, and several nieces and nephews.

Jim attended Waynesfield-Goshen Schools. He started working at Superior Coach in Lima and then worked at Lima Ford Engine Plant for 32 years, retiring in 2001. Jim was a life member of Sons of Amvets Post #39, Indian Lake Moose Lodge #1533, and Indian Lake Aeries #3615. Jim enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson, playing guitar, and singing. He played with several bands throughout the years, including Country Connection. Jim loved socializing with friends, spending time with his family, and singing karaoke with his granddaughter, Linzie.

A celebration of Jim’s life will be held Saturday, November 22, 2025, from 2-6 pm at Doyle R. Miller Amvets Post #39, 110 W. Harrison St, Lakeview, OH.
