Jennifer "Fred" Ann Myers
March 31, 1953-July 23, 2026
Jennifer passed away peacefully on a Thursday at Tidewell Hospice in Bradenton, Florida, with family by her side.
Jennifer was born to the late Arthur R. Myers Sr. and Helen R. (Poland) Myers in Bellefontaine, Ohio. She grew up the youngest of 8 children in Lakeview, Ohio. She was a proud "Laker" graduate of Indian Lake High School, class of 1971.
In late 1980, Jennifer packed up her family and moved to Bradenton, Florida, where she continued to live and raise her 4 children. "Fred" became a local celebrity by making a career out of bartending at the Red Barn Flea Market. She made many friends along her 37-year journey. Her legacy lives on behind that bar through her daughter.
Jennifer's greatest accomplishments and life's work are her children. She is lovingly survived by her daughter Brandi N. (Robert) Perkins, sons Jeremy D. Simpkins, David "Bub" G. (Erika) Simpkins, Addam R. (Crystal) Simpkins, and her grandchildren Kendall, Logan, and Emaleigh.
Jennifer "Fred", being the baby of the family, always had a tomboy mentality. Hence the nickname Fred. The lifelong question from many of her customers, some friends, and acquaintances is finally answered. "What is her real name?"
Jennifer is preceded in death by her parents, brother Arthur R. Myers, sister Helen R. (Myers) Hudson, brother Robert E. Myers, sisters-in-law Susie (Bill) Myers, Eileen (Jim) Myers, and Nora (Art) Myers. She leaves behind beloved siblings William "Popeye" L. Myers, James R. Myers, Virginia "Ginny" L. Myers, and John E. (Teri) Myers
A celebration of life is being planned for a later date. Jennifer will be taken home to Ohio, where a memorial service will be held at a later date as well.
