1958-2023
Jerald E. “Jerry” Spain, 65 of Dayton and formerly of Bellefontaine, passed away Friday, September 1, 2023, at his residence in Dayton.
Jerry was born August 19, 1958, in Bellefontaine to the late Lawrence “Larry” and Marilyn “Sue” (Blackburn) Spain.
Jerry worked for VSP – Vision Care and North Banks as a concierge, both in Columbus, OH. He moved to Dayton in 2019 where he made his home. Jerry always enjoyed singing, dancing, and watching old movies. In his earlier years, Jerry was very athletic and enjoyed gymnastics; he could be anywhere and start doing flips upon request. Jerry took comfort in his faith and always turned to God for guidance. He was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his mother, Janet Spain; sisters, Lisa (Dwight) Spain Collier, JoEtta (Jeff Payne) Spain and Michelle Spain; two nieces, Courtney (Danny) Rosenberger Collier and Brittany Collier; many wonderful cousins who meant a lot to Jerry.
He is preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Don & Ida Blackburn and Leota Spain; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Please come visit to share memories of Jerry and enjoy refreshments in a Celebration of Life Visitation on Friday, September 8, 2023, from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. at Jennings Farley & Seeley Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial of ashes will take place in Highland Memorial Cemetery at the foot of his mother’s grave at a later date.
