John Thomas Good, 83, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 16, 2026, at home with his family by his side.
Tom was born on October 13, 1943, in Urbana, OH, to the late John F. Good and Betty L. Good. Tom will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 62 years, Linda (Towler) Good, and his children John W. Good and Kelli L. Mallon (John E. Mallon). Tom is also remembered and cherished by his grandchildren, Connor L. McDonald, Brady T. McDonald, and Rylee E. Good. He will also be missed by his brother-in-law Timothy G. Woodruff, and is preceded in death by his loving sister, Joyce K. Woodruff. Tom was a devoted and generous man who will be missed by many friends and family.
Tom graduated from West Liberty High School in 1961 and the University of Cincinnati in 1971. With his degree in Mechanical Engineering, he worked as a sales representative to the steel industry in Pittsburgh, PA. In 1985, he and his wife (Linda) founded Service Equipment Company, a commercial and industrial refrigeration and HVAC company which is still family-owned.
Tom loved the outdoors and was active in his community. He served as President of the Midget Football League, the Avonworth Eagles, and coached the Indians in Little League baseball. He even built a new baseball field so that an extra team could be added, ensuring all boys had a chance to play ball. Tom was an avid fisherman and loved to hunt, camp, and snowmobile with his family. He was also a Deacon at Ben Avon Presbyterian Church where he worshipped with his family.
A “Celebration of Life” will be planned at a later date.
