1953-2026

John Thomas Stupp, 73, a lifelong resident of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away on January 17, 2026. He was born on January 10, 1953, to Donald and Eva Maye (Painter) Stupp.

John graduated from Bellefontaine High School in 1971 and Urbana College in 1975. He ran the family business, LM Stupp Furniture, opened the local Radio Shack, and later followed his dream of becoming a truck driver. Well known for his friendly and inquisitive nature, John never met a stranger. He had a passion for learning and was known for his generosity and altruism, always willing to help others.

He thrived in retirement, enjoying swimming and lifeguarding at the YMCA, scuba diving, bike riding, boating, and working on fix-it projects—especially with his family.

John is survived by his wife, Vickie Stupp; children, Donald (Elizabeth) Stupp of Clearwater, FL, and Caitlin (Addison) Stupp also of Clearwater, FL; brother, David (Chris) Stupp; sister, Nancy Morrison; and many nieces and nephews. He is also fondly remembered by his two grand-dogs. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law, Terry Morrison.

Per his wishes, no formal services will be held. John donated his remains to The Ohio State University College of Medicine so he may continue to help others.
