In Loving Memory of Kai Kingston

December 26, 2024 ‒ June 18, 2026

It is with our heaviest hearts that we share the devastating news of the passing of our beloved son, Kai Kingston, who gained his wings at the tender age of 18 months on June 18, 2026. Kai Kingston was a beacon of joy and light whose sudden departure has left an immeasurable void in our family.

On June 18th, Kai Kingston was baptized, affirming that this child will know God. We hold onto the promise of Matthew 19:14: “But Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.’”

Kai Kingston’s legacy will live on in a profound and selfless way; as an organ donor, he was able to save multiple lives and assist in the healing of others. Through these children, Kai Kingston’s spirit continues to prosper, and we look forward to seeing the difference he has made in their lives. In just 18 months, he touched an extraordinary number of hearts, schools, and organizations, leaving an imprint far beyond his years.

He was a truly special little boy, full of infectious laughter, boundless energy, and a spirit that could light up any room. He was our high-fiving, thriving little "snack thief," who would often shimmy to the beat of his own joy with every bite. He absolutely loved music and dancing, and his positive energy, handsome smile, and unforgettable tight curls were a
constant source of happiness for all who knew him.

Kai Kingston was the baby boy who could make all the hurt and worry disappear, no matter the circumstances. Growing into the smartest, most loving little human being, he woke up every morning with a smile, seeking love from everyone in the house. He was a true "mama’s boy"—her shadow and her "ace boon coon"—and he cherished his daily greetings at the front door for his Dada, offering the best hugs after a long day of work.

He took immense pride in learning from his older brothers, Lyric and Amor Curtis. They spent their days and nights playing, fighting, and loving one another, with his brothers often "duking it out" over who got to play with or love on him first. We are forever grateful to God for the blessing of being Kai Kingston’s parents, for the opportunity to love him, and for the life-changing gift of his affection.

Kai Kingston was greeted in heaven by his maternal nana, Sharon St. Clair, his great￾grandmother, Francis Jackson, and several beloved cousins, and multiple angel siblings who were there to greet him as he gained his wings.

He is the adored son of his father, Kareem Devon Williams, and his mother, Brittany Ann Curtis. Kai Kingston’s legacy of love is carried on by his parents, his brothers, and his siblings in Ohio. He is also survived by his devoted grandparents: Jerry F. Curtis and Sharon Morton of Florida; Mr. Stan Williams of Cleveland, Ohio; and Ms. Carla and Calvin Royal of Columbus, Ohio.

Kai Kingston will be forever cherished by his live-in brothers and "partners in crime," Lyric and Amor Curtis, and his cousins who were as close as brothers and sisters: Maddox Wade Curtis, Rylee Grace Curtis, Bryce Curtis, Aleigha Ramey, and Austin Ramey.

His memory also lives on through his maternal uncle, Joshua Curtis; maternal aunt, Amanda Chavis and her significant other, Robert Price; Rashida Williams; Pooh Bear; and Khaliff Williams, along with his daughters, Sadiah Williams, Kalia Williams and her significant other, James. Kai Kingston is further survived by multiple other abundantly loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Kai Kingston’s memory will be forever etched in our hearts. Though his time was far too short, the imprint he left on this world is eternal. The family wishes to express their deepest and most heartfelt gratitude to everyone who
donated towards Kai Kingston’s legacy and assisted financially with his arrangements and celebration of life.

We would like to extend a special and profound "thank you" to Theresa's Gingerbread Houses. The love, learning, and affection they provided have made a monumental difference in our family’s life, helping Kai Kingston, Lyric, and Amor to thrive and prosper in their growth. Their dedication and care will never be forgotten. Our hearts are also filled with gratitude for Advent Health. The amazing care provided to Kai Kingston and the immense love, compassion, and support shown to Kareem and Brittany was a true blessing. Their profound dedication extended to Lyric and Amor,
ensuring they could be near their brother during his most difficult moments, including the thoughtful gesture of arranging accommodations for the family to stay close by.

"An angel in the book of life wrote down our baby's birth, and whispered as she closed the book, 'Too beautiful for earth.'"

Graveside Services only will be held at the Fairview Cemetery in West Liberty on July 18th at 2 PM.
