Lynn J. Johnson
1965-2024

Lynn J. Johnson, 59, of Bellefontaine, passed away at 9:18 p.m. on Monday, September 30, 2024, surrounded by family at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. She was born in Springfield, Ohio on March 31, 1965, a daughter of Jacqueline Kay (Mellen) Johnson and the late Jacob Eldon Johnson.

Lynn is survived by her two sons, Dana Zook, and Darek (Lauren) Zook; two grandsons, Grayson Zook, and Myles Zook; three sisters, Kim (Keith) Fielder, Kelli (Alan) Kizer, and Liane (Joe) Makin; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog “Archie”. She was preceded in death by her father, Jacob Eldon Johnson, and nephew, Nicholas Paul Makin.

Lynn retired from the Honda Heritage Center and recently enjoyed working part-time at the Logan County Sheriff’s Office. In her leisure time, she enjoyed playing cards with friends, attending concerts, and most especially spending time with her beloved family.

Lynn loved to organize parties for family and friends. She used her creativity and humor to ensure everyone present felt welcome and had a great time. As a mother, Lynn was a provider, mentor, advocate, encourager, and so much more. Even in her time of pain, Lynn used her strength and courage to be present for her children, offering guidance and support through significant life events.

Lynn’s favorite role was “Grammy”. She always looked forward to spending time with her grandchildren, planning trips to adventure parks and events at the Holland Theatre, as well as hosting pool parties. She was a faithful supporter of Grayson at his sporting events and a strong advocate for and supporter of Myles.

The family will receive friends from 12-2 p.m. on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 321 N. Main Street in Bellefontaine, where Pastor Andy Leighty will officiate a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in DeGraff, Ohio.

Memorial contributions may be made, in Lynn’s memory, to Logan County Board of Developmental Disabilities Foundation, 1851 SR 47 West, PO Box 710, Bellefontaine, Ohio 43311. This foundation supports local youth and adults with developmental disabilities, such as Lynn’s grandson Myles.
