Marie M. Murdock, 91, of Bellefontaine, OH, formerly of Lakeview, OH, passed away Saturday afternoon, August 1, 2026, at Springfield Regional Medical Center.
Marie was born on April 28, 1935, in West Mansfield, OH, a daughter of the late Forrest and Lynda (Doan) Carpenter. She married Hobert Murdock on June 21, 1957, and he preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by siblings, Floyd (Sue) Carpenter, Richard Carpenter, Ellen (Charlie) Proctor, brothers-in-law, Phil Ganson, and Don Collens, and sister-in-law, Jean Carpenter.
Marie is survived by her sister, Bernice Ganson of Huntsville, OH, brother, Ronnie (Nancy) Carpenter of West Mansfield, OH, sisters-in-law, Kathy Carpenter of Lakeview, Catherine Hoffman of Dunkirk, OH, and Charlene Collens of Kenton, OH, and several nieces and nephews.
Marie was a babysitter for many around Indian Lake in her earlier years. She enjoyed bingo, word searches, listening to country music, and when she was younger, camping, snowmobiling, and traveling with her husband, Hobie.
Pastor Bryan Meadows will begin funeral services at 1:00 pm, Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Shoffstall Funeral Home, 205 S. Main St., Lakeview, with visitation from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm. Burial will be in Walnut Hill Cemetery, New Hampshire, OH.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Affinity Hospice Care of Ohio.
