Mark Eugene Brunson
1960-2025

Mark Eugene Brunson, 65, of Huntsville, OH, passed away unexpectedly, Sunday afternoon, November 16, 2025, at his home.

Mark was born on June 27, 1960, in Bellefontaine, OH, a son of the late Dale Eugene and Shelby Jeanne (McMillen) Brunson. He was also preceded by his grandfather, Ross McMillen.

Mark is survived by two children, Eddie R. Brunson of Huntsville, and a Lacie M. Brunson, two grandchildren, Emily Grace Brunson and Isaiah Mark Brunson, three sisters, Tamara Brunson of Huntsville, Gina Lee (Stoney) Winegardner and DeLaura Dare (Tim) Young, both of Bellefontaine, nieces and nephews, Melissa Peterson, Seth Schultz, Jamie Ford and Gregg Ford, and close friends, Dean Brunson, Kenny Daniels, Rusty Oliver, Ron Burton, and Don Burton.

Mark was a 1978 graduate of Indian Lake High School. As a young man, Mark demonstrated a strong work ethic that he carried throughout his life. This started when he and Billy Peterson began doing automotive bodywork in 1976. He began working for Sam Wagner while in high school, worked as a boat mechanic for Spend-A-Day Marina for 15 years, and then at Honda ELP and MAP for 31 years, retiring in 2015.

Even after retirement, Mark always had a project to work on. Mark was a member of the Inventors Club, holding a number of registered patents. He enjoyed working on classic cars and going to car shows and parades, boating, and camping yearly at Indian Lake State Park. Mark was community-minded and would volunteer his time when he saw others in need, including rescue efforts during the 1978 blizzard and cleanup efforts after the 2024 tornado.

Above all, family was the most important thing to Mark, as he loved spending time with his family and close friends, but especially his time with Emily and Isaiah. He will be missed by all who knew him.

A celebration of Mark’s life will be held at a later date.
