Nancy E. (Countryman) Cotter, 82, of Lakeview, OH, passed away Saturday, August 22, 2026, at St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima, OH, surrounded by her family.

Nancy was born on October 18, 1943, in Lima, OH, a daughter of the late Ervin A. and Pauline (Lamb) Countryman. She married Robert N. Cotter, and he preceded her in death in 1984. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Edna Roth, a brother, Ervin A. Countryman I, sister-in-law, Joyce Lucille Countryman and a nephew, Casey K. Countryman.
Nancy is survived by her niece, Laura Roth-Broderick of Virginia, three nephews, Ervin “Skip” Countryman II and Jonathan Countryman, both of Michigan and Jeff Roth of Georgia, brother-in-law, Elmer Richard Roth of Virginia, a cousin, Sharon Ammons, and lifelong friend, Janet Acheson.

Nancy was a 1961 graduate of Roundhead High School. As a teenager, she rode her show horse, Troubles, in several contests and won many Blue Ribbons. After high school, she followed her brother to Michigan to work in Data Entry, and that is when she met Bob. After they were married, she and Bob raised horses on their farm until his death. Nancy returned to Ohio, purchasing her property near Indian Lake, where she continued her love of raising horses and rented storage units. Throughout Nancy’s life, she had an affinity for caring for many family members and friends while in Michigan and Indian Lake.

Private inurnment will be beside her first husband in Woodlawn Cemetery, Detroit, MI.
