Richard E. Huffman, 93, of Bellefontaine, passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at Mary Rutan Hospital.
Dick was born August 14, 1932, in North Lewisburg to the late Forest Earl and Martha L. (Tombs) Huffman. On January 7, 1955, in Mingo, OH, he married the love of his life, Ida Mae Metz, who preceded him in death. He is also preceded in death by his sister, Betty, and brother, James “Butch”.
Dick graduated from North Lewisburg High School and later went into the United States Army, where he served his country honorably during the Korean War. After his time in the military, he came home and married Ida Mae Metz. Dick worked at Siemens until he retired. He served as the choir director at the Bellefontaine First Church of God for many years. Dick enjoyed coaching ACME baseball and coaching and playing softball. He enjoyed playing the trumpet, guitar, and going fishing. Dick loved spending time with his family, friends, taking trips to Holmes County, and the food at family gatherings. To know him was to laugh. His humor was a part of how he loved his family, and it is how he will always be remembered.
He is survived by his children, Kristi (Bill) Harrington of West Liberty and Mark (Jane) Huffman of Bellefontaine; 4 grandchildren, Monica (Dan) Wilcoxon, Travis (Shanna) Harrington, Joshua Huffman, and Jeth (Misty) Huffman; 11 great grandchildren, Riley Wilcoxon, Maggie (Silas) Augsburger, Miles Wilcoxon, Alanee (T.J.) Kerns, Devin Huffman, Valerie Huffman, Montgomery Harrington, Temperance Harrington, Carter Huffman, Emersyn Huffman, and Ellowyn Huffman; two great great grandchildren, Scarlett Gorham and Paisley Mae Augsburger.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, December 19, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Jennings Farley & Seeley Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home and again on Friday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the services. Burial will take place in Highland Memorial Cemetery following the service.
