Ricky Ray Roby, 78, of DeGraff, passed away at 7:26 p.m. on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at Wilson Memorial Hospital in Sidney, Ohio. He was born in Bellefontaine, Ohio, on November 20, 1947, to the late John Melville Roby and Ida Lucille (Black) Roby.
Rick is survived by his three children, Ricky (Barbara) Roby Jr., Tami (Scott) Klopfer, and Jason (Jamie) Roby; eight grandchildren, Isaiah (Wulf) Roby, Andrew Roby, Tyler (Maddie) Klopfer, Emily (Dakota) Rosen, Dakota Roby, Kailynn (Tyler) Pugsley, Britton Roby, and Jaycen (Alexis Bowling) Roby; a great granddaughter, Clara Rosen; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Rick was preceded in death by a sister, Judy DeLong, and a brother, Steve Roby.
Rick retired from the Ohio Department of Transportation, where he had worked as a bridge inspector. He enjoyed hunting, was a well-known avid golfer at Lakeland Golf Course, and was a member of the Farm Bureau.
Pastor Robert Warnick will officiate a memorial service at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 210 W. Hayes Street in DeGraff. Inurnment will be in Greenwood-Union Cemetery in DeGraff, Ohio, at the convenience of the family.
