1936-2026

Robert “Bob" G. Kritzer, 89, of Russells Point, passed away on June 23, 2026, at Mercy Health St. Rita’s Medical Center. Bob was born August 21, 1936, in Sidney, Ohio, to the late Louis and Faye (Cottrell) Kritzer. Bob married Norma Rose Howell on December 9, 1965, and she preceded him in death on December 9, 2022.

He is survived by a daughter, Linda (Chris) Edwards of Sidney; grandson, Justin (Becky) Edwards of Bowmansville, NY; granddaughter, Paxton (Ashley) Fintz of Sewickly, PA; great-grandson, Ezra Edwards. Bob is also survived by special friend Neva Radabaugh and their much-loved pups: Sheba and Suzie. Bob leaves behind several siblings: Bonnie (Joe) Tupper of Michigan, Steve (Jolene) Kritzer of Illinois, Joanne Fogel of Ohio, Roger Shepherd of Haughton, LA, Carolann Shepherd of Chattanooga, TN, Suzan (Howard) Gariety of Anna, OH, Chuck Shepherd of Sidney OH, John (Roxy) Shepherd of Sidney, OH, Barbara (John) Haning of Piqua, OH, Katy (Chris) Chorba of Las Vegas, NV., Bobbie Jo Shepherd of Sidney, OH, and Darlene (Doug) Mayo of Lewisburg, OH; two sisters, Betty Staley and Mary Terry and one brother, Bill Shepherd preceded him in death.

Bob had a wonderful and full life, including time as a meat cutter, Sidney City Policeman, and finally retiring from B&O /CSX Railroad. Bob was a United States Army Airborne Veteran, 1955-1957, and was proud of it. Bob loved Indian Lake and spent as much time there as possible. He always had a story about Spend-A-Day Marina or Acheson’s, and all of his many fishing buddies, especially Hugh and Pete. Of course, if you knew Bob, he had a story about everything and as his friends put it, he was "a legendary fisherman".

Bob was a member of the National Rifle Association, the American Legion, the Moose Fraternity of Indian Lake, and the Moose Golf Club of Sidney. He was a founding member of the Northside Bassmasters fishing club. Bob was also president of Jackson Center Senior Citizens Club. He was an avid golfer at the Moose in Sidney, where for several years he volunteered during the summer, teaching kids to play golf. Bob was also in a bowling league at Bel-Mar Lanes in Sidney for many years and served as the president of the Tuesday morning swinging seniors league.

Bob loved his church, Indian Lake Community Church, and he showed it. He was a long-time church board member serving as deacon and trustee. Bob was president of the church men’s club and volunteered countless hours helping with the men's pancake breakfast and BBQ chicken dinners, raising money for church projects and providing Christmas for community families. He led the rummage sales twice a year for decades and played Judas every year in the Maundy Thursday last supper reenactment.

Visitation for Bob will be held on Monday, June 29, 2026, from 1:00 to 3:00 at the Indian Lake Community Church, 121 N Orchard Island Rd, Russells Point, OH 43348. Followed by a memorial service at 3:00 p.m., and then military rites performed by the Logan County Veterans Honor Guard.
