1933-2026

Robert “Bob” Grant Hart, 93, of Huntsville, OH, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at his home.

Robert was born on March 14, 1933, in Morgantown, WV, a son of the late French and Viola (Shisler) Hart. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Virginia Gath, his brother, Howard Hart, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Bob married Mary Leming Hart on June 27, 1954, in Decatur, IL, and she survives. They would have celebrated 72 years of marriage. He is also survived by three children, Alan (Emy Remedios) Hart of Fallon, NV, Roberta Hart of Huntsville, OH, and Rosemary (Terry) Hendricks of Urbana, OH, six grandchildren, Maria (Bo) LaFollette of St. Paris, OH, Mark Hart of Fallon, NV, Andrea Hendricks of Greenville, SC, Jessica (Joe Don) Baker of Sparks, NV, Michelle (Drew) Morgan, and Nicole (Federico Flores) Hart of Fallon, NV, two great grandchildren, Henry LaFollette, and Jax Morgan. Bob would like to especially acknowledge Beverly (Marion) Enoch, Cindy (Scott) Gregory, Donnie (Jamie) Wallace, and Ronnie (Becky) Wallace, who were like his own children.

Bob was a retired Tech Sergeant in the United States Air Force, serving during both Korea and Vietnam Wars. During the Korean War, he also worked at Switzer Bros, where he dyed cloth for signaling panels. In 1966, Bob was deployed to Vietnam for a year. During his career, Bob was stationed in Illinois, Washington, Florida, and twice in Ohio and England. Upon retiring from the Air Force, Bob and Mary moved to Huntsville on their small farm. He also worked for a few years at Ohio Hi-Point JVS. Bob was a member of Charles Collins American Legion Post #381, Doyle R. Miller Amvets Post #39, Frank D. Castle VFW Post #1080, and Logan County Friendly Senior Center. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and playing cards with his family and friends. Bob’s family expresses sincere gratitude to their church family and friends for their continued help and support.

Pastor Rod Brower and grandson-in-law, Bo LaFollette, will officiate funeral services at 1:00 pm, Monday, June 15, 2026, at Shoffstall Funeral Home, 205 S. Main St., Lakeview, with military rites performed by the United States Air Force Honor Guard. Visitation will be on Sunday, June 14th, from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date in Dayton National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in Bob’s memory to Otterbein Universal Hospice Care, 921 Rush Ave, Bellefontaine, OH 43311.
