1949-2026
Robert Dale "Bob" Troyer, 76, of Belle Center, Ohio, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2026. A devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Bob will be remembered for his kind heart, adventurous spirit, and unwavering love for his family.
Bob was born Aug. 6, 1949, in Bellefontaine, Ohio, to the late Robert and Eleanor (Vance) Troyer. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Bonnie (Troyer) Moore; and his brother-in-law, Thomas Moore.
Bob graduated from Belle Center High School in 1968. Following graduation, he proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy as a Boatswain’s Mate Second Class. Bob retired from Honda of America after more than 30 years of dedicated service. In addition to his career, he spent much of his life farming on the Troyer Family Farm in Logan and Hardin counties, where his strong work ethic and love for the land were evident to all who knew him.
An avid motorcyclist, Bob loved riding his Yamaha across the country, visiting 49 states and even traveling to Nova Scotia. He cherished time at Bear Lake, where he enjoyed waterskiing at the lake home his parents built in 1976. He was also a loyal fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cleveland Browns, had a sweet tooth, especially for donuts, and enjoyed collecting John Deere memorabilia.
Bob is survived by his brother, William (Luann) Troyer; his children, Ronnie (Kathy) Troyer of Bellefontaine, Ohio, Renae (Corey) VanHoose of Zanesfield, Ohio, Randi (Wade) Thomas of Ypsilanti, Michigan, and Robbie (Lindsay) Troyer of Pinckney, Michigan; 12 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him immense pride and joy.
