1949-2026
Robert Mearl "Bob" Crowder, 76, passed away surrounded by love, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, service, laughter, and devotion to family.
Bob was born on July 22, 1949, to Mearl and Virginia Crowder. A proud graduate of Triad High School and The Ohio State University, Bob carried his Buckeye pride throughout his life. He honorably served his country in the United States Army, Air Force, and Navy National Guard, traveling across North America during his years of service.
A man driven by a deep desire to help others and a belief in the importance of feeding the world, Bob worked hard his entire life. He dedicated more than six decades to raising and showing pigs, served as a 4-H advisor for 20 years, and coached baseball for 20 years, impacting countless young lives through mentorship, patience, and encouragement. One of his greatest joys was watching his grandchildren play ball.
Bob was known for his quick wit, kind heart, and unwavering generosity. He loved hunting mushrooms, starting a good fire, enjoying a Frosty from Wendy's, and cheering on the Buckeyes. Above all else, he cherished time with his family and friends. He was a loving father, a wonderful husband, a devoted grandfather, and a loyal friend. Men like Bob are hard to come by, and he will be deeply and forever missed.
Bob is reunited in heaven with his parents, Mearl and Virginia Crowder, and his sister, Cheryl.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Sherri (Westfall) Crowder; his children, John (Shannon) Crowder and Emily (Jim) Compton; his brother, Mark (Susan) Crowder; his cherished grandchildren, Chase, Kipton, Kolbie, Avery, Ava, and Emma; 4 nieces and nephews; 11 great nieces and nephews.
Bob's legacy of love, hard work, and kindness will live on through all who knew him.
