Sheila Ruby (Wynn)
1955-2026

Sheila Ruby (Wynn), 71, of North Lewisburg, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, June 13th, 2026.

Sheila was born on May 14th, 1955, in Urbana, Ohio, to William “Wedge” Wynn and Virginia Wynn. She is a 1974 graduate of Triad High School. After high school, Sheila spent her time working for Grimes Aerospace and American Honda before medically retiring in 2004.

She is survived by her children, daughter Amy Elizabeth Edwards of Marysville and Corey Ryan (Andrea) Edwards of North Lewisburg. She was a proud single mother sacrificing years of hard work for the happiness and well-being of her children. She is also the proudest dog mom of “Brinkley” and any animal picked up by her daughter Amy, to include “Ezra,” the sweetest black lab she unknowingly got while she was hospitalized. Spoiler alert: pissed at first, worked out just fine.

Sheila later gave her life to Jesus Christ and identified as a Christian. She often talked about attending church with friends once she felt well enough. She enjoyed being outside, playing cards/games, gardening, fishing, mushroom hunting, and spending time with those she loved most (grandpets and family alike). She never failed to make us laugh, and her humor will be greatly missed.

In addition to her beloved children, she is survived by her sisters, Jennifer (Jerry) Brehm, Pamela Derr, Cindy Knotts, Teresa Duncan, and sister-in-law Karen Wynn; brothers, Bruce (Tammy) Wynn, and Jeff (Robin) Wynn. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and close friends.

She is preceded in death by both of her parents, William and Virginia Wynn. Siblings William “Billy” Wynn Jr., Keith (Jackie) Wynn, infant Gary Wynn, and brother-in-law Bruce Derr. Sister Sharon Wynn-Jackson and infant Amy Wynn. Special niece and nephew, Christy Knotts and Eric Helms. In addition, she is preceded in death by her sister and best friend, Delilah Nance, who, in typical big sister fashion, went ahead to prepare a place in 2017. It brings great peace knowing they’re reunited today.

For anyone who knew Sheila, they knew the Wynn stubbornness was always a way of life. In typical fashion, she lived a stubborn life and wanted this transition on her own terms. She was adamant that no services or visitation would take place. She will be interred in Woodstock Cemetery at a later date. As her children, we ask that you continue to share stories of how Sheila made you laugh, showed you kindness, made a difference in your life, or just the sweet kind of things that keep her memory alive.

Arrangements are entrusted to FRESHWATER, MCDONALD & VERNON Funeral Home, North Lewisburg, Ohio.
