Thurman Lee Wilson, 86, of Belle Center, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Monday, February 16, at Vancrest of Ada. He is now home with his Lord. He was born March 8, 1939, in Wyandot County to John L. and Leota (Geahlen) Wilson. On March 31, 1973, he married Brenda K. Resch, and she survives.
Thurman is survived by his wife, Brenda, daughters, Linda (Terry) Penny, and Beverly (Mike) Freshcorn, five grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, brothers, John (Brenda) Wilson, and Daniel Ray Wilson, sisters, Noreta Forsythe, and Barbara Frater, and sister-in-law, Pat Wilson. He was preceded in death by son, Jeffrey Wilson, brother Wayne Wilson, brothers-in-law, Monford Forsythe, and Robert Frater.
Thurman was a painter at Engineer Wire Products and painted many cabooses for International Car until it closed. He had many beehives that he maintained. Thurman was active in the Church of Christ of Belle Center, serving as a church officer and Deacon for many years. He proudly served his country for eight years in the Army National Guard.
Visitation for Thurman will be on Friday, February 20, from 10 to 12. Funeral Service will start at noon, with Pastor Dean Wasson officiating. Burial will follow in Grove Cemetery. All services will be at Shindewolf-Stout-Crates Funeral Home, 200 East Columbus St., Kenton, OH 43326
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
