1931-2026
Virginia Gregg, of West Liberty, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 20, 2026, at home with her family. She was the daughter of Victor C. and Frances E. (Delong) Pool. Born on July 8, 1931. She is preceded in death by her parents, her 1st husband, Charles W. Hostetler, and her 2nd husband, Robert W. Gregg.
She is survived by a daughter, Brenda K. Coy, whom she lived with in West Liberty, and grandchildren Michelle Coy and Brian (Meredith) Coy. Great-grandchildren Gage (Madecyn) Penhowood, Chelsea (Reese) Wilson, Garett Avila, and Levi Coy. Great-great-grandchildren Sophia & Delilah Penhowood and Anna Wilson. A sister, Janice Stout. Nephews: Tim Brackney and Chris (Carrie) Brackney.
Virginia graduated Salem High School in 1949. She was a member of the United Church of Christ in West Liberty. She helped with West Liberty Cares by helping at the food pantry and getting supplies and clothing for children starting school.
She was a member of the Mac-A-Chee Home Extension Club. She retired from the Champaign Telephone Co. She was a member of the Amvets Post 109 in Bellefontaine. Her family and Church were very important to her. She enjoyed sitting on the front porch & talking to the squirrels and feeding the birds. She was blessed with a beautiful soprano singing voice, and she was a student of Mrs. Leroy Blessing in Bellefontaine, OH. She sang many solos and was a former member of the Methodist Church choir.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, October 3, 2026, with Visitation being held at 10 a.m., service at 11 a.m., then food afterward at the United Church of Christ, 212 West Newell St, West Liberty, OH, by Pastor Karen Griswald. Burial will be at the family's convenience at the Fairview Cemetery in West Liberty, OH.
