William “Web” Webster Lewis Sr., 73, of Tecumseh Island, Indian Lake, OH, passed away at his home, Thursday night, December 25, 2025, with his family by his side.
Web was born on August 17, 1952, in Bellefontaine, OH, a son of the late William Hobart and Elizabeth Lea (Erbach) Lewis. He was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Paul Lewis, and lifelong friend, Buddy Watkins.
Web married Karen Lynn Jennings on November 10, 1973, at Indian Lake Community Church in Russells Point, OH, and she survives. Web is also survived by two sons, William Webster Lewis, Jr., and Trenton Hobart (Kayli Ann) Lewis, both of Huntsville, five grandchildren, Brooke Lynn Taylor (Caleb) Austin, Jade-Lynn Briawna (Nikolas) Vance, McKenzee Skylar Lynn (Nathan) Fry, William “Brody” Lewis, and Audriena Lyn Lewis, a great grandson, Cade William Austin, two sisters, Leslie Christine Zajic and Sharon Lea Shultz, two aunts, Jenny Ebner, and Wendy McKenna, and several nieces, nephews and friends.
Web was a 1970 graduate of Indian Lake High School. He began Lewis and Minnich Construction in 1985 with Bob Minnich and later operated as Lewis Construction, building custom homes. He was a life member of Indian Lake Masonic Lodge #722 and later Boggs Lodge #292 when the two combined. Web loved building homes and was proud of his family’s history in developing the Indian Isles. He enjoyed tinkering, blowing leaves, fishing, boating, snow skiing, ice skating, and watching western movies, especially John Wayne movies. Web did not know a stranger and would help anyone he saw in need. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Funeral services will be 1:00 pm, Saturday, January 3, 2025, at Shoffstall Funeral Home, 205 S. Main St., Lakeview. Visitation is Friday, January 2nd, from 4-7 pm at the funeral home with Masonic services at 6:45 pm. Burial will be in Huntsville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in Web’s memory to Indian Lake Elementary School Clothes Closet.
