Saturday, the 2024 Logan County Fire Training concluded with great success, bolstered by the support of local businesses and organizations. The event, which saw participation from nearly 40 firefighters across eight departments, benefited from the generosity of Easton Water Solutions, which provided water, and Bellefontaine Professional Firefighters Local 351, which supplied snacks. City Sweets & Creamery donated donuts, while the Weikart Family contributed snacks and fruits. Vic’s Country Cookin served a hearty lunch, and the Logan County Fair generously offered its grounds and facilities for the training.

Participating departments included Ridgeway – Ohio Fire Department, Bokescreek Fire/EMS Dept, Bellefontaine Fire Department, Huntsville Volunteer Fire Department, Ohio, West Liberty Fire Department, Richland Twp Vol Fire Dept, Tri-Valley Fire District, and Quincy-Miami Twp Fire & EMS. The apparatus on-site featured Quincy’s Engine 71, Tanker 71, and Rescue 71; Bellefontaine’s Truck 21, Medic 21, and Air/Rehab Trailer; Huntsville’s Medic 51; West Liberty’s Tanker 111; Richland Township’s Engine 11; and Tri-Valley’s Tanker 141.

Western Buckeye Training LLC provided top-tier instruction, focusing on essential skills such as scene size-up, 360-degree assessments, hose movement, first-due engine, and tanker operations, and searching off the hose line. The event was visually documented by Jacob Howell and Andrea DeCola, whose photos captured the training’s key moments.

The collaborative effort and dedication of all involved made this year’s training an exceptional experience, reinforcing the community’s commitment to fire safety and preparedness.
